Flash Dryers (Agitated, Swirl, Turbo) Dryers & Coolers

Flash dryers are essentially pneumatic dryers. Flash dryers offer an effective method of removing surface or unbound moisture from a feed product. The technology behind flash drying employs a low residence time within the actual dryer; thus, the unbound moisture is "flashed" off the feed.

The types of Flash Dryers We supply.

  1. Extended Residence Time Flash Dryer
  2. Pneumatic Conveying Type Flash Dryer
  3. Agitated Flash Dryer
  4. Multiple-Stage Flash Drying Systems
  5. Spin Flash Dryers

Working Principal

Flash drying systems use a heated carrier gas (usually, air) to pneumatically convey the feed through the flash dryer (flash tube) and into a primary gas-separation device (most commonly, a cyclone or series of cyclones in series or parallel).
The carrier is heated the desired operating inlet temperature in hot gas generator. The feed induced or forced into throat or on an agitator driven vertically or horizontally. In the feed throat, the gas entrains the feed, and the moisture is evaporated quickly as the product is conveyed through the system to the primary gas/product separation device.

As the entire product is entrained in the gas stream, both primary product collection (typically, cyclones) and secondary and tertiary dust collection such as multi-clones, bag houses, Or for Gas Cleaning Scrubbers are installed to meet emission limits.
Flash drying is a continuous process with the dryer being either directly or indirectly fired. They are inherently co-current dryers with the hottest air contacting the wettest product. They operate at inlet temperatures varying from ambient dehumidified viz 104oF (40oC) air for sensitive products to more than 1,100oF (600oC) for robust products.
Higher inlet temperatures also increase the overall dryer efficiency.

Features of RAYGM Flash Dryers:

  • Continuous processing with short drying time. Low residence time, minimum exposure to save original product quality.
  • Produces free flowing powders in agglomerated or granulated form.
  • Appropriate velocities are maintained inside the drying chamber to avoid any build-up. Special air distribution device, reducing the resistance of the device, and effectively improve the dry material uniformity.
  • Ideal for heat sensitive products as particle temperatures are kept low throughout the drying process.
  • Efficient Mixers and Lump breakers with partial drying arrangement for lowering Drying Cost. Drying is completed at low outlet drying temperatures, giving high energy utilization efficiencies.
  • High drying efficiency and low energy costs lowering drying cost.
  • Low operator overheads and minimum maintenance costs.
  • Pressure shock-resistant chamber for safe drying of organic products.
  • Continuous production machine without human touch.
  • Ideal replacement for tray drying of wet cakes.
  • Extremely sticky/pasty wet cake can be handled.
  • Particle size as fine as 500 mesh is achievable. The drying chamber is equipped with grading ring and swirl pieces, to adjust fineness and final moisture.
  • Can be the directly dry into a uniform powder product, eliminating the need for crushing, screening processes. Which will lower the load on ACM mills or pulveriser and the total Drying Cost.
  • Fully automatic - needs little running attention.
  • High volume processing

Benefits of RAYGM Flash Dryers

  • Relatively simple in operation.
  • Small Foot prints.
  • Require lower capital investment than other types of dryers.
  • Excellent choice for processing heat-sensitive or easily oxidized feed materials.
  • Product inventory in the flash-drying system is very low
  • Easy to change product or product grade with minimum downtime
  • Control system responds very quickly to operational changes
